About this mug
Stoneware is the mug material for people who drink slowly - thick, dense walls hold heat, and the body is tough enough for everyday knocks.
The body is sculpted into a character shape rather than printed, which makes it as much an ornament as a mug.
Size and capacity
It holds 14 fl oz (about 415 ml) when filled to the brim. That is a large mug: a tall latte, a big tea or a coffee that lasts through a meeting. Filled, it is noticeably heavier than a standard 11 oz mug. Capacities are quoted brim-full, so the comfortable drinking volume is roughly an ounce less.
Material: stoneware
- Keeps drinks warm - stoneware walls are thick and dense, so a hot drink stays drinkable noticeably longer than in thin porcelain.
- Hard-wearing - fired at high temperature until the clay vitrifies - the durable end of ceramics, well suited to daily use.
- Natural variation - small differences in glaze tone and speckle between pieces are characteristic of the material, not defects.
Care and use
- Dishwasher: glazed stoneware generally tolerates a dishwasher. Printed, painted or decorated designs keep their colour longest on the top rack or when washed by hand.
- Microwave: plain glazed stoneware is generally microwave-safe. Never microwave any mug with gold, silver or other metallic paint.
- Avoid thermal shock: do not pour boiling water into a mug taken straight from a cold cupboard or fridge - warm it under the hot tap first. Sudden temperature changes, not age, are what crack ceramics.
- Unglazed foot ring: if the base is left unglazed, run a fine sanding sponge over it once so it never scratches a worktop.
- Stains: a paste of bicarbonate of soda and a little water lifts tea and coffee rings without scratching the glaze. Avoid abrasive scourers.

Why the duty is already in the price. A parcel from Hong Kong is an import, and imports carry duty. Rather than add a line at checkout or let the carrier bill you at the door, the 10% duty and customs handling is built into every price on this site. If FedEx or anyone else ever asks you to pay customs charges on a LuvMuggs order, send us the paperwork and we will refund it.

When will it arrive?
We pack orders within 3 business days of payment clearing, and FedEx then takes 2–7 business days, so most orders arrive 5–10 business days after you order. A FedEx tracking number is emailed as soon as the label is scanned.
Will I have to pay anything when it is delivered?
No. The 10% import duty and customs handling is already included in the $65.95 price, so there is no duty line at checkout and nothing for FedEx to collect at the door.
How much is delivery?
$45 per order, whatever the size of the order, and free once the goods total reaches $800. It is one flat charge, not per item.
Can I return it if I change my mind?
Yes, within 30 days of the delivery date, as long as it is unused and in its original packaging. Email support@luvmuggs.com for a return authorisation number first; return postage for a change of mind is paid by you, and there is no restocking fee.
What happens if it arrives broken?
Email a photo of the damage and the outer box within 7 days of delivery. We send a replacement or a full refund — whichever you prefer — and you pay nothing. In most cases we do not ask for the broken item back.
